During June 2004 I spent many hours cleaning and painting the inside of the crankcase. Here you can see a photo of the dip stick tube when the engine was delivered and a photo three years later.
This web-site is dedicated to the restoration of a vintage marine engine. The project was started in mid July 2001 and we have estimated that it will take approximately two and half years. During this time I hope you will visit the site to view regular updates and browse through the photographs of this marvellous piece of engineering.
On completion, ‘Devon’ will then be fitted into a boat, the start of another project!!! Originally it was a narrow boat, but due to a number of changes over the past year or so, it is looking likely that 'Devon' will go into a MFV or a new Dutch Barge.
